We collect children walking from neighbouring schools – St John of God Girls National School and St Patrick's De La Salle Boys National school.
Our Approach
We aim to provide a homely, warm and safe environment and atmosphere We take time to sit, play and nurture the children in our care. Underlying our approach is the belief that every child is a unique and special individual. Each Child is welcomed with open arms and given the support they need to grow and be a child. In todays world children need to be children .
Ethos
This ethos is achieved through the development of a Positive Partnership with parents and the provision of a child centred environment for the children at tiddlywinks which is sensitive and responsive to the Child’s need, feelings and interests. Our child-initiated and adult led ethos means that we focus on each child’s individual interests and needs and support them as they investigate the world in their special way. At tiddlywinks we are more than aware that It takes a village to raise a child and we work closely together with communities parents and families to best fulfil our role enable confident and happy children to learn and grow together.
Parent Partnership
At tiddlywinks we work closely with each and every parent to provide the best care we can give to your child as they attend our service. we believe that a positive partnership with parents is crucial, that constant communication between carer and parent is the way forward. We therefore always welcome daily communcication with any member of staff and parents. we have an open door policy which means we welcome parents to visit and have a look at your childs daily environment .
we use ecce soft as a way of communicating with parents online, daily logs such as attendance, toileting, meals, naps and activities are relayed daily through our softwear – which goes to all parents as an email at the end of each day. Other items which ecce soft is used for include accidents/ incidents, medication, observations and photos . we have found this an excellent way of communicating effectively with parents and it has always worked well for us.
